Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

Here are some frequently asked questions about our services and energy consulting in general.
Q: What is the process for an energy audit, and how can it benefit my business?

A: The energy audit process at J&H Energy Consultants starts when you send us your most recent energy bill from your supplier. Using this bill, we conduct a detailed energy analysis to assess your current energy usage and identify areas for efficiency improvements. This analysis helps us understand your energy consumption patterns and tailor solutions that can optimize your energy usage and reduce costs.

Q: Can residential customers also benefit from J&H Energy's services?

Q: What are the steps to transition to renewable energy sources?
A: At J&H Energy Consultants, we guide our clients through a comprehensive process to transition to renewable energy. This begins with a detailed analysis of your current energy usage and requirements. We then explore a range of renewable energy options suitable for your specific needs, considering factors like cost-effectiveness, sustainability, tax credits and potential energy savings. We assist in the procurement process, ensuring you get the best possible terms. Post-implementation, we provide ongoing support and monitoring to optimize energy efficiency and performance.

Q: How Does J&H get pricing
A: We present exclusive rates from wholesalers and suppliers. Similar like a real estate agent helping you secure a home we secure procurement of your energy contract and manage your business energy profile
Q: Will there be any service interruption when switching to a new energy plan?
A: No, no matter which supplier we help you choose, electricity and natural gas will still be delivered by the utility company.
Q: Who should be contacted in case of an energy emergency or outage?
A: You still call the local utility. The utility is responsible for maintenance and repair of poles and wires.
Q: How will billing be handled with different energy suppliers?
A: This depends on which supplier J&H Energy Consultants helps you choose. Most energy suppliers are on a single bill system with the local utility. In this scenario, you would receive one bill for both supply and delivery from the local utility. With a handful of suppliers, you will receive two bills – one from the energy supplier and one from the utility.
Q: Are there any early termination fees associated with energy contracts for example if I move locations or sell my business or go out of business?
A: Early termination fees may apply if you switch providers before the end of the contract term. However, these fees do not apply in certain circumstances, such as if the business is sold (the new owner assumes the contract), the lease expires and the business relocates (the contract can often be transferred if the new location is within the supplier's service area), or if the business ceases operations (proof of business closure negates the fee). For most commercial contracts handled by J&H Energy Consultants, there are early termination fees. We recommend contacting us to understand any potential penalties before breaking an agreement prematurely.
